Air Zoom Pegasus 38 ($120)
Today Nike announced the latest edition of its "workhorse with wings", the iconic Pegasus. It will release later in April and RoadTrailRun will be testing soon.

We are not sure, but suspect, the new sandwich mesh upper leads to a 0.56 oz /16g drop in weight to approximately 9 oz and maybe a touch under in a US9. Nike uses a US10 for spec weights and the Pegasus 38 is spece at 268g while the 37 was at 284g.
The midsole stack height is 27.5 mm heel / 17.5mm forefoot, 10mm drop. Unchanged as far as we know.
The Pegasus gets a new last and new fit with more room in the toe box which is said to be similar to the Pegasus 36. It gets a new midfoot webbing system to individualize fit as well as what appears to be a non gusseted tongue with foam padding, the 37's being largely unpadded and gusseted.
We found the dense men's Pegasus 37 upper (RTR Review) fine but I found almost trail shoe like or more race shoe in its fit and somewhat scratchy materials. The lighter 37 women's upper was far more like what we would have liked so we are eager to see how the new last and a lighter sandwich mesh material fits and feels.
The midsole and tuned 10mm Zoom Airbag are said to remain the same but you never know..Testing and our upcoming review will see if we can determine if there are any changes underfoot.
Several of our testers felt the higher pressure Airbag of the 37 men's version was a bit overdone pushing up on the forefoot but some liked it. I personally preferred the lower pressure women's Airbag and the softer React.
