The 1080 is has a rocker based geometry with 4mm more forefoot cushion and 2mm more heel cushion than the 880 and weighs just a bit less at 9.55 oz / 271g vs 9.7 oz for the 880. Both have Fresh Foam X midsoles. The 880 has a more flexible geometry and 2mm more drop at 10mm than the 1080. Both are performance neutral trainers in the New Balance line.
The 1080 v11 ($150) releases February 2021. The 880v11 ($130) releases March 2021
