Faith Kipyegon Breaking 4 : What Makes Faith Tick?

Faith Kipyegon is the 3 time Olympic champion in the 1500 meters (Rio, London, Paris) and the world record holder in the 1500 and mile runs setting her 1500 world record of 3:49.04 at the 2024 ParisOlympics and her mile record of 4:07.64  in 2023. 

On June 26, in a daring attempt in Paris, she will attempt to slice 7.64 seconds off her world record and break 4 minutes for the mile.  Options for watching the event live or in person are here

Of course, she will have a special kit and spikes (Nike Innovation Team Video  explains how they will be supporting her, all in her favorite color, purple which during an online interview with media today we attended she said was her favorite color as to get purple you need a combination of colors.

Faith answered a number of questions from the moderator and media and her answers were fascinating. She is very poised, calm and spoke excellent English.

Several times she said that she want to empower the next generation, including her daughter, adding "what a man can do a woman can do"

What would she be if not a professional runner: Teacher

Most memorable race: Gold in the 1500 at the Rio Olympics

Favorite Nike: Vomero Premium (an as of yet unreleased shoe)

When is her first run of the day: 6AM..

Night before a race: She likes to watch funny African movies

Ritual before a big race: Faith prays.
