The Rab Adrift Day Pack is designed as a durable multi use pack that crosses over well between daily use, travel and commuting, to day hiking or trips to the crag. Constructed with an exceptionally hard wearing nylon ripstop fabric, a close fitting back system for stability and comfort, easy U shape zipper, internal pockets and removable hip belt.
I have used the Adrift 24L for a variety of activities, from local day hikes and as a day to day pack. I find that it is very comfortable and stable no matter how much gear and water I have loaded in.
The Adrift has really sturdy and convenient lift handles, which is really handy when lifting/moving the pack, or holding it in the field while you sift through for items.
The back panel is very thick and comfortable, protecting from any hard items in the pack, so no need to worry about being too strategic when organizing the main compartment. I find that it also helps with stability and structure when carrying weight.
The top pocket is roomy and voluminous, allowing easy access to your sunglasses, food, or other small-ish essentials. There is even a key clip,a must.
Inside is a mesh zip pocket, 3 small stretch organizing pockets and a larger sleeve pocket with velcro tab. On the back left side of the padded pack panel is a hidden zipper that accesses the 15” laptop sleeve.
The side stretch bottle pockets easily accommodate up to Nalgene size bottles.
Fit is good and will work for a wide range of body types and sizes with comfortable well padded shoulder straps, a chest strap and a removable (somewhat minimal) waist belt.
Overall I find the Adrift 24 to be a durable, comfortable, well rounded versatile day pack for day to day use, travel, commuting and light duty hiking or other adventures. With a high quality build and durable ripstop nylon fabric, it should last many many years of hard use.
