ASICS GT-2000 10 ($130)
Update: Full Multi Tester Review
The GT-2000, a light stability shoe gets a significant update for version 10. In the video I detail the changes, take them for a run, and share comparisons to the Kayano Lite 2,GEL- Kayano 28, GEL-Cumulus 23, Nike Pegasus, and Saucony Ride 14.
The key changes are:
- Flytefoam Propel as the top (yellow layer) with Flytefoam below
- Trusstic midfoot plastic plate is removed
- Dynamic DuoMax firmer side wall layer replaced with Lite Truss geometry of the main Flytefoam midsole side walls
- Both men's and women's go from a 10mm drop to 8mm
- New 3D Space Construction that is gender specific and is designed to adapt to individual runner strike patterns
- Weight slightly higher at 10.12 oz / 287g (US9 sample)
- Engineered knit upper.
Bottom line: A soft(er) friendly, flexible ride for a support shoe with no disconnects in feel from stability elements. The GT 2000 10 shoe equally at home with neutral shoe runners (such as me) and those needing light stability with a significantly softer heel feel than version 8 ( the last I tested) and a more energetic bouncier forefoot feel from the new Propel layer there.
