Topo Athletic Specter ($150)
Update: Full Multi Tester Review HERE
In the video linked below, I share my initial review of the Specter with shoe details, fit and ride.
The Specter is a near maximally stacked (35mm heel / 30 mm forefoot) trainer racer with a rigid unplated rocker geometry and aggressive toe spring.
Weight is 7.95 oz / 225g in my US8.5 sample which is highly competitive for shoes of its stack and class. Its midsole is made up of a combination of an outer light EVA foam with a central core of high rebounding PEBAX expanded bead foam that is 16mm thick at the heel and 14mm at the midfoot.
The outsole is thinner and less aggressively lugged than usual from Topo with coverage in all the right places.
As always with Topo the single layer engineered mesh upper has an anatomical toe box with plenty of room.
And also, as always from Topo, Specter has excellent foot hold and lockdown, and even for my narrower feet from its varied mesh density, lacing system, underlays and a solid toe bumper
Full multi tester review soon. Releases June 2022. $150

Thanks for the initial thoughts! Looking forward to your full review
Great review, I was just wondering how they compare to the Hoka Mach 4. I really liked the Mach 4 but they were just too narrow for me.
