Outdoor Retailer: Saucony Fall 2017 Previews: Ride 10, Zealot ISO 3, Koa, Xodus ISO 2, Omni 16, and more!

Saucony never disappoints at Outdoor Retailer. Discreetly,in sister company's Sperry's booth,  they pulled neat shoe after new shoe from out from under the counter featuring strong updates and new models.

Ride 10
The Ride 9 (my daily trainer of the year here) gets significant update without changing the basic...ride and architecture.  The upper will be a soft engineered mesh. The midsole is made of Saucony's new Power Foam, an EVA blend which while it adds 0.3 oz to a still very light 9.5 oz maintains cushion 50% better over the duration of a run than the prior SSL EVA in many Saucony. Ride 10 will be available 6/1/17. $120

The SRC crash pad is eliminated for a smoother transition. In fact the SRC crash pad is eliminated from not only the Ride but also from Zealot 3, Omni 16 and upcoming Triumph ISO.  The Tri-Flex outsole is slightly tuned for a balance of flexibility and performance.

There will be a GoreTex version of the Ride for next winter. Not a bootie construction with its attendant stiffness it has GoreTex's new Invisible Fit laminate which bonds the membrane to the mesh. We think it looks particularly sharp. $140. Available 9/1/17

Zealot ISO 3
This update really caught our eye and was for us the star of the line up. Sitting between the Kinvara and the Ride the Zealot is for faster daily training.
Dropping a full ounce from Zealot ISO 2 to 8.5 oz it felt like a whole lot of shoe for the weight. Again we see Power Foam, an engineered mesh upper and the elimination of the SRC crash pad. The outsole/midsole has deeper flex grooves and more IBR (blown rubber) outsole. $130. Available 6/1/17

Saucony surprised with two new trail shoes:
The Koa ST (Soft Terrain) at $130 and Koa TR (Trail) at $110. Both on sale 6/1/17
The ST has a 28mm heel/18mm forefoot, the  TR has a 22mm heel/18mm forefoot stack, both with a drop of 4mm. (Note: will confirm catalog listed stack and drop of ST)
Both weigh 10.3 oz and have Everun TPU top soles.

The ST has massive 8mm lugs for mud and snow. It should be incredible in deep stuff! The TR has 3.5mm lugs for more general trail use including some road use.

The TR(left below) has a durable mesh upper while the ST (right below) has a durable synthetic (fabric like) upper designed to shed mud and snow. The ST also has a pull cord lacing system.

Omni 16

The support Omni 16 gets an engineered mesh upper with a sock like fit, a more sculpted medial midsole for a touch more agility and a Power Foam midsole. The support post of firmer midsole is moved a bit further forward.

Awesome, thanks for the sneak peak. I'm very excited for the Zealot. I love version 1, hate version 2, but v3 looks promising.
