With thousands of exhibitors and 200 new exhibitors each year at the Outdoor Retailer Show, it can be a challenge for new product lines to stand out and catch the attention of the passerby. Pakems caught my eye. They are lightweight, water resistant and packable footwear meant to be worn after/après a sport activity, such as hiking and skiing.
Pakems come in two different styles: low cut and the high top and are designed to be carried around in the supplied color coordinated pakems case.

Lightweight and water resistant, they feature rip stop fabric and a rugged rubber sole. Comfortable and fun, they come in five different colors, including a white and orange combo, blue and white, a cloud like pattern in black and white, and a lumberjack print. The upcoming Fall 2014 collection features two additional color/print : "The Lumberjack" and "The Bodie" which is a paint/fabric mark your own version.

The company, which is based in Vail, Colorado, was founded by Julie Adams. They hosted an OIWC (Outdoor Industries Women’s Coalition) event on August 7th, at OR. By donating $ 30, I supported the mission of the OIWC and received a free pair of Pakems.
I plan to bring my Pakems on my next trek in the Alps for “après-hike” wear in the huts.
