With its now PWRRun+ midsole and new non ISO upper the Triumph 17 not only drops more than half an ounce (17g)  to 10.5 oz / 297g for a size men's US 9 based on my test sample and becomes a more flexible and agile trainer.  The stack height is 33.5mm heel, 25.5mm forefoot with the same 8mm drop as in the current Triumph ISO 5. Releases 11/1/19.

Thanks for the preview. I certainly hope the 17 feels more cushioned than the ISO 5. The Triumph has been my go to shoe for years, but I switched to a different shoe because of the full length EVERUN midsole. To me it felt kind of harsh for a top cushioned shoe. I also don’t like the ISO fit system. Glad it’s gone!

P.S. By saying I hope it feels more cushioned, I actually meant softer.

Hi,
Just wondering how it compares with the new skechers gorun ride 8, is it as responsive and fast and similar cushion levels. Great if you do a comparison in your review. Thanks :)

Hi Anonymous,
We will certainly be comparing. GRR8 is springier in feel while Triumph 17 is bouncier for starters.

What is the diff between springier and bouncier?

I was going to ask the same question :) Is it to do with just bouncy like boost and springy more propels you forward ?

Hi Anonymous 2x,
I would characterize "springy" midsoles as having essentially a tighter more spring like feel more vertical in feel a spring down and back. Bouncy feels like more and deeper deflection under load then a more sudden even somewhat cruder less controlled rebound back. Here the bounce is notably more controlled side to side and without plastic stabilizing than say adidas Boost The full coverage outsole plays a role but the material while not much firmer than Boost seems "better behaved" slightly denser.
