UTMB Introductions: La Sportiva Prodigio Pro

At the UTMB Ultra Village, La Sportiva introduced the Prodigio Pro

It'll be a 220 gram long distance trail racer with two kinds of supercritical foam

Peter explains and gives us a full demonstration. So we're at the UTMB Ultra Village and Peter is going to tell us about the Prodigio Pro

which is a variant of the Prodigio. So go ahead. Hello everyone. So today I'm going to quickly present you the new Prodigio Pro

We come the next winter, next summer, so spring, summer 25. And for us, it's not an upgrade of already our Prodigio

It's something new, something made for longer distance. So we come up with a hopper, really light

In fact, in all the shoes, we stretched down 25 grams between the two shoes

thanks to the power wire construction, as you can see here. So we got a really super lightweight upper with a reinforcing place where we need more structure

But the main thing is the core of the shoes. So in the bottom part, as you can see here, you can see the already known X-Flow foam

that is EVA supercritical foam. But now we had a core in a polyurethane with supercritical polyurethane inside

So it's a supercritical PU foam as the core. Yeah, as the core

What it does is give us around 25, 20, 25% more reactivity compared to the normal Prodigio

On top of that, we put the inner sole made in the same PU supercritical

So it's a PU supercritical. I noticed it. It looks good. Absolutely

So we use all the material that we can recycle from the PU supercritical just to make the

inner foam that gives you a bit more reactivity to all the platform

And so the flexibility I noticed. Show us how the flexibility. Super flexible

Very nice. No plates. No plates. Compared to the Prodigio. Compared to the Prodigio, you can see the difference in this area

Thanks to the inner shape that we have. So it's provided to have a lot of confidence and push forward toward every step

So this is more long distance. Now, what about the outsole, Peter

Well, we work a lot on the outsole. Another difference compared to the old Prodigio will be the outsole

So as you maybe know, we used to use for the rubber, the friction rubber in all our

mountain running shoes. In the Prodigio, normal Prodigio, we used to use the red one compound

So it means that in the front, we still have a really super sticky rubber, but a bit more

durable rubber in the heel. Just for durability. In the Prodigio Pro, we have been through just the friction wire all the length

But we weren't happy just for that. So in the rubber itself, we put a piece of material just to give a bit more tension to

all the rubber. So it's going to be lighter as well with all the cuts and more durable and less stretchy

than the normal rubber. Excellent. And a bit of an idea on the weight and price and availability

So the weight will be 225 grams for the 42 size. 220

Yeah, 220. So it's super light. Wow. And will be 200 euros

220 grams. That is very light. For that kind of shoes, it's super light. Super
