Okay everybody we're with Eric LePluma who is a Terex athlete of course you can
0:06
see and Eric is running the CCC this year and he lives in New England that's
0:13
where Road Trail Run is from so I had to speak to him but he's originally from
0:17
Jersey of all places so Eric tell us a little bit about your your running
0:22
experience and what it's like to be here in Chamonix and what shoes
0:28
are you gonna wear of course the Road Trail Run we're always about a lot about shoes go ahead. I've been here in Chamonix for about a month now like Sam said I live in
0:40
Vermont so I do most of my training out there but luckily with Terex we get to
0:45
stay out here for quite a while before the race we've been doing a ton of good
0:51
training just getting out with the team pretty much every day I've seen the
0:55
second half of the course a ton for CCC saw the first half last year and the
0:59
second half but just kind of been focusing on scouting the second half this year and I only have a couple more days until race day now and I'm getting
1:08
excited. Okay so tell us a little bit about your past experience here and
1:15
otherwise and also of course what shoes are you gonna be rocking what what
1:19
Terex you preferring these days? Yeah so I'm racing in the Gravix Speed Ultra
1:24
pretty much every single race I do now is in that I think something if it was a
1:28
little bit shorter and more technical I'd use the Speed and then most of my training miles are in the Gravix 3 and then doing a little bit of training in
1:35
the Speed and then workouts in the Gravix Speed Ultra. I really like the Gravix 3
1:40
I think it's one of the best of the year 130 bucks energetic super super and so
1:48
do you have what what kind of strategy are you thinking about for the race? I
1:52
think I'll do best if I hold back a little bit for the first half and then
1:57
by the time like not really worry about anything until I get the Champey lock
2:01
yeah and then hopefully being good enough of a position there where I can
2:05
move into hopefully like top five top ten in the second half. So a lot of your
2:10
experience has been in at the World Championships you told me I think you
2:15
were seventh twice generally a bit shorter distances right? Those it's shorter than CCC the distance I did there was both about 80k. Oh 80k okay yeah
2:25
yeah super well thank you very much wishing you all the best that in nice
2:31
weather and fast running. Thank you. Okay thanks
