Nike 2024 Trail Introductions: Zegama 2 gets Vibram, Pegasus Trail 5 gets React X foam

Starting with the Trail line, we've been making a bigger and bigger commitment to

Trail, as have more runners over the last few years. And so we're

complementing our, you know, the foundation of our line with some really exciting developments to push further and go even more rugged, namely with the

Zagama. So the Zagama 1 was a shoe where we took the best of our technologies

from road racing and said, how can we make it right for the Trail? Road, Trail

runners who wanted to go extreme distances really valued lightweight cushioning and protection with great energy return. We thought

Zoom X would be a great technology to deliver that to them. So we had to make

it right for the Trail. So if you imagine a bathtub or a boat of a more firm

carrier foam, we packed that full of Zoom X so you still get the great vertical

compression properties of Zoom X, all protected to add a little bit more

stability with that boat carrier of SR foam. Runners loved that in the Zagama 1

but we did hear, hey, if this wants to tackle extreme distances and extreme

terrain, we also want to have even better traction. So if this is the ultimate in

Trail cushioning, we also want to add the ultimate in Trail traction. So we went

and partnered with Vibram. Great partnership with our friends at Vibram. They came to campus, their designers and engineers sat with ours to make sure

that we were optimizing, learning from each other's expertise. If you like the

Zagama 1, you're gonna really love the Zagama 2. If you had any hesitation

really encourage you to give this a try because we've solved the very few

opportunities we had to deliver the ultimate rugged trail running vehicle. That is the final version right there

See the outsole? Yeah. Cool. So if the Zagama is an extreme vehicle for most long distance and

rugged trail running, we also want to make sure for people running a mix of roads and trails and also maybe people venturing out to the trails for the

first time, we've got a great option for them. So it made sense for us to use the

Pegasus franchise, our most known, trusted, longest running road model to make a

great trail version for all those runners who deserve an invitation to the

trail. Biggest updates on the Pegasus Trail 5 are underfoot. We've replaced

React Foam, one of our most trusted, highest performing foams, with ReactX

We know runners in general, especially trail runners, care a lot about the

environment. They want shoes that they can feel good about, that are made more

responsibly, but not at the expense of performance. ReactX accomplishes both. It is 13% better in terms of energy return, more energy back in every stride

whereas the carbon footprint is reduced by 43% compared to React. So better for

your run, better for the planet. Similar to the Zagama, we also wanted to improve

on traction. So for a mix of road and trail running, we developed our own in

house compound called Nike ATC, all-terrain compound, partnered with a new lug design to deliver you more traction, more grip, so you can be more

confident on all the different terrains you're going to hit in the peg trail
