With the 2023 release of the 880 V13, the V12 has been deep discounted. I find them for $54 at zappos - $90 at the lawrence,MA NB factory store near me. I love the comfortable ride , the dual layer foams are fantastic. The heavy duty grippy outsole works for 4 seasons if you take it easy on the snow. I think everyone should own a a pair of these. they are such a great daily trainer and very under appreciated. I have found that I do cinch up the laces tighter on these than other shoes. Probably should try a pair of narrow width? mrmike7189https://www.blogger.com/profile/18352780033569117038noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10529476.post-19799668379380862512022-05-23T13:38:54.784-06:002022-05-23T13:38:54.784-06:00@anoynmous you are not correct. The NB product manager for all performance shoes specifically told us the front lower layer is fuel cell foam of the same durometer firmness but slightly higher density than the FreshFoam above. And where do you get your information from to say what you do? We try extremely hard at RTR to go beyond often cursory marketing oriented spec sheets from brands and here we could feel the differences so asked.
Sam, EditorSam Winebaumhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17969086391170473784noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10529476.post-79933629292988135412022-05-19T17:15:13.619-06:002022-05-19T17:15:13.619-06:00 I fuelcell in this shoe. These types of errors in your reviews lower the validity and trustworthiness of all of past and future reviews. Keep it accurate and don’t try to slide bs into the description. If something is "denser" it is firmer. If it is equally dense it is equally firm. 'Nuff said.
My quick take on the 880V12? The "Hoka-fication" of many offerings from many companies continues. I think they fit noticeably more generously than V11. A far superior upper hold for all types of feet, even narrow for the Topo. Underfoot the lower drop Phantom is flatter feeling snif denser if more cushioned. I like New Balance for the many widths they provide as I have a wide foot. I have found the brand Topo and some of their versions work well for me. Wondering how the 880v12 compares to the Topo Phantomv2.
