Saucony Freedom 3 Initial Run Impressions Review and Shoe Details Video

Article by Sam Winebaum

Saucony Freedom 3 ($150)

Releasing Feb 1, 2020, I detail the Freedom 3's features, go for a first run, and give my impressions in the video below.

With a new livelier and lighter PWRUN+ midsole and ride and a more secure upper the $150 Freedom 3 loses 0.7 oz in weight to come in at 8.6 oz / 243 g and becomes a much more fun to run, and more versatile, daily and uptempo trainer.

Hi Sam,

thanks for your first impressions! How would you compare the Freedom 3 to the Kinvara 11? Both have 4mm drop, similiar stack and even similiar weight. I thought of the Kinvara as my uptempo trainer and the Freedom as more of a more agile Triumph for long and recovery runs? Would that pairing make sense for you? How stable is the Freedom in comparison to the Kinvara? I lean more in the direction of stable neutral trainers like the Kinvara or the Salomon Predict. Should the new Freedom work for me?

Thanks and all the best!
Nils
